Below you will find some tools to help you in your study, and reading of the Bible.


Biblegateway.com is website where you can find a number of translations of the Bible, as well as some study tools.  You can do word searches online.
 
At Back to the Bible you will find daily devotional thoughts and Bible reading guides that will lead you through the entire Bible in a year, as well as some other reading plans.

 

You will find additional plans for reading the Bible, including some you can print out, here,  here, and here.
Many of our church family use the Daily Bread booklets from Radio Bible Class as an aid in having a daily time with the Lord.  These are available quarterly at CBC, or you can find an online version here. There is even an audio option, that allows you to listen to the thought and scripture being read.

Another popular devotional aid at CBC is the Word of Life Quiet Time Diary.  It is available for a variety of age levels.  You can order QT Diaries, find other materials, and find a link to the daily scripture in the QTD, at this website.

Don't let any of this intimidate you.  What is important is for each of us to spend time, on a regular basis in the Word of God.  If all of the above just seems too complicated, just pick out a book of the Bible and start reading.  Read some every day.
 
The world is a big place and the needs are great.  Operation world has a Prayer Guide to help us be informed and pray.
Prayer:
Just a couple of thoughts on prayer:
  • Do it.  In Luke 11:2, Jesus says "When you pray."  The clear assumption is that we will.
  • Look at the Lord's teaching on and model of prayer.  You will find much of what He had to say in Matthew 6:6-13, and Luke 11:1-13.
  • I find that participating in corporate prayer--praying with other Christians, enhances my private prayer life.
